Exploring Poland

We hope this wedding inspires you to step out of your comfort zone and take the opportunity to explore Poland. Below are a few places nearby that we would recommend checking out.

Warka

The city closest to where the venue is located. Warka Brewery Browar Warka is one of the largest and one of the oldest breweries in Poland, established in 1478. Warka beers are found on the shelves of liquor stores across America and I would highly recommend trying their Warka Strong beer. Brewery tours are available and we can provide you with information if you are interested. Pilica River The Pilica River runs right through the grounds of our venue. It is the ninth-longest river in Poland and a tributary of the Vistula. Kayaking, canoeing, and fishing are popular activities on the river. Catfish, zander, asp, and non-native brown trout can be caught in the river.

Warsaw

The thriving capital of modern Poland. Although it was one of the hardest hit cities during World War II there are still plenty of beautiful places that we have visited and would recommend. We would recommend walking around the Royal Łazienki Park, Wilanów Palace, and exploring Old Town Warsaw (Stare Miasto).

Kraków

The historic capital of Poland and our favorite city to visit. A two-hour train ride from Warsaw, we highly recommend extending your trip and exploring this city. Nearly untouched in World War II, Kraków's old-world charm is as authentic as it gets. We spent a lot of nights exploring around the Main Square (Rynek Glówny) and Kazimierz, which is now the city's trendy area with many bars, cafes, and restaurants. Wieliczka Salt Mine and Krakus Mound offered fantastic opportunities to explore geology-related sights.

Gdańsk

The colorful port city on the Baltic Sea. For those looking to really see Poland for all that it is worth, we recommend taking the three-and-a-half-hour train ride north of Warsaw. On our first trip to Poland, we took an 18-hour ferry/cruise ride from Sweden to Gdańsk. It is still one of our most memorable moments and the perfect way to enter the country. We recommend biking through the nearby town of Sopot, taking a walk along the Motława River downtown, and shopping for amber on Mariacka Street.

Food Tour

If you have been following our travels, you will already know that food and drink are our main priorities. Here are places that we have visited and will be returning to: Warsaw - Try traditional Polish dishes at Zapiecek and enjoy brunch at Kawarnia Patio. Kraków - Grab a zapiekanka from the stalls at Okrąglak, have breakfast at Żarówka Cafe, enjoy pierogi at Pierogarnia Krakowiacy, and sip a cocktail at Mister Black. Gdańsk - Enjoy fresh seafood at Bar Przystań in Sopot, cocktails at Bunkier Club, ham and cheese croissants at Kawiarnia Drukarnia, and Polish cuisine at Kubicki.
