Our Forever Begins

We first met at a bonfire in July 2014, right before starting high school. At the time, we barely noticed each other, it was simply a quick introduction among new friends. A couple of months later, we reconnected at a football game. Anthony attended St. Augustine High School (an all-boys school), while Alexandra went to its sister school, Our Lady of Peace. She was a cheerleader, and he played freshman football. That night, we both went to the varsity game, an opportunity for freshmen from both schools to meet and mingle. The moment Anthony spotted Alexandra, something about her instantly caught his attention. Summoning his courage, he walked up and casually put his arm around her (a bit cringe, in hindsight!), trying to play it cool. He got her number that night, but Alexandra was initially hesitant. Still, Anthony’s persistence won her over, and on October 4, 2014, we officially became a couple. From day one, we embraced each other’s cultures, Anthony’s Jordanian heritage and Alexandra’s Mexican roots. Whether driving a few hours to Mexico multiple times a year or taking a 17 hour flight to Jordan, we immersed ourselves in each other’s traditions, morals, and unwavering belief in God. Our families were incredibly loving and supportive, and this blend of backgrounds helped shape our relationship, making us more open and understanding of each other’s worlds. We journeyed through high school side by side and then took on college life together at San Diego State University. Each challenge we faced, individually or as a couple, became a stepping stone that strengthened our bond. We were blessed to share those final years of childhood hand in hand, witnessing each other’s best and worst moments as we grew into adulthood. Through it all, we knew our love was strong enough to overcome any obstacle. One dream remained constant, we always knew we wanted to get married and become one. For us, marriage means deepening our relationship through God and uniting as one in Him. We look forward to making a home, starting a family, and embracing all that life has in store. Now, we know the day we have been dreaming of will come to fruition. On September 20, 2025, we are beyond thrilled to celebrate our union and share this next chapter with all of you!

Nos conocimos por primera vez en una fogata en julio de 2014, justo antes de empezar la preparatoria. En ese momento, apenas nos dimos cuenta el uno del otro, fue simplemente una breve presentación entre nuevos amigos. Un par de meses después, volvimos a encontrarnos en un partido de fútbol americano. Anthony asistía a St. Augustine High School (una escuela solo para varones), mientras que Alexandra iba a la escuela hermana, Our Lady of Peace. Ella era porrista, y él jugaba en el equipo de fútbol americano de primer año. Esa noche, ambos fuimos al partido de varsity, una oportunidad para que los estudiantes de primer año de ambas escuelas se reunieran y socializaran. En el momento en que Anthony vio a Alexandra, hubo algo en ella que de inmediato llamó su atención. Reuniendo su valor, se acercó y, con un gesto un poco vergonzoso visto en retrospectiva, le puso el brazo alrededor, tratando de actuar con naturalidad. Consiguió su número esa misma noche, aunque Alexandra al principio se mostró un tanto reticente. Sin embargo, la perseverancia de Anthony terminó conquistándola, y el 4 de octubre de 2014 nos convertimos oficialmente en pareja. Desde el primer día, abrazamos nuestras respectivas culturas: la herencia jordana de Anthony y las raíces mexicanas de Alexandra. Ya fuera conduciendo unas horas hacia México varias veces al año o tomando un vuelo de 17 horas hacia Jordania, nos sumergimos en las tradiciones, los valores y nuestra inquebrantable fe en Dios de cada uno. Nuestras familias fueron increíblemente amorosas y solidarias, y esta mezcla de orígenes nos ayudó a forjar nuestra relación, haciéndonos más abiertos y comprensivos ante los mundos de cada uno. Recorrimos la preparatoria juntos y después asumimos la vida universitaria en la Universidad Estatal de San Diego (San Diego State University). Cada desafío que enfrentamos, de manera individual o como pareja, se convirtió en un peldaño que fortaleció nuestro vínculo. Tuvimos la bendición de compartir esos últimos años de la adolescencia tomados de la mano, presenciando los mejores y peores momentos de cada uno mientras crecíamos hasta la adultez. A lo largo de todo, sabíamos que nuestro amor era lo suficientemente fuerte como para superar cualquier obstáculo. Hubo un sueño que se mantuvo constante: siempre supimos que queríamos casarnos y convertirnos en uno solo. Para nosotros, el matrimonio significa profundizar nuestra relación con Dios y unirnos como uno en Él. Tenemos la ilusión de construir un hogar, formar una familia y abrazar todo lo que la vida nos depare. Ahora sabemos que el día que tanto hemos soñado llegará a su cumplimiento. El 20 de septiembre de 2025, estamos más que emocionados de celebrar nuestra unión y compartir este nuevo capítulo con todos ustedes.
