I had just graduated Cosmetology school and I moved to the Downeast Area. I applied for a part-time job at a little cafe that was just getting ready to open up and got hired as a barista. Anthony was hired as a line cook at the same time I was. We worked really well together side by side and started building our friendship. That summer both of our relationships naturally came to an end. We spent hours discussing our dreams and goals in life and realized that we wanted the same things. We took things slowly but soon enough we became inseparable.
It was three days before Christmas and we hadn't even started our shopping yet. As we drove to Bangor, we discussed that I was going to hang out in BAM while TJ did his shopping, which was totally normal. I spent about two hours in the bookstore when I finally saw him walk through the door to come to get me. When we got back to the car and it only took about 15 minutes before he had the idea to go for a walk since there wasn't much snow on the ground yet. We drove out to the Bangor Forest, we walked for about a 1/4 mile when we came to a little pond that was flooded and blocking the path. We decided to turn back towards the car. It was in that moment that TJ paused, started reaching in his pocket, he said, "One more thing." He got down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever see, and asked me to marry him. I, of course, said yes after the shock wore off. I was so surprised, the only hint I had that he was up to something was a few days prior, TJ asked to see my Pinterest Wedding Board. He had been aware I had one, he had just never asked to see it before. TJ was so sneaky but definitely made it a Christmas to remember!
