This location is on the side of the mountain overlooking the old city.

This is a group-activity for Saturday June 6. The Schauinsland cable car 🚠 is a 15 minute ride offering beautiful views of the black forest. At the Schauinsland, one can do short walks around or go up the path to the lookout tower, with a 360º view of the black forest, and on good days, views of the Alps to the south and the Vosgues in the west, across the Rhein in France. The last cable car ride is 17:00

Colmar, France is an iconic town of the Alsace, also dubbed "Little Venice". Colmar is a picturesque little city with boutique shops and a lovely central market. In all 3h to visit is sufficient. TRANSPORTATION Public Transportation from Freiburg: 1) Take the regional train S1 from Freiburg Hbf central station (Hauptbahnhof) to the small town of Breisach am Rhein. Trains to and back are quite regular (every 30 minutes). 2) Transfer to the bus R026 to Gare de Colmar Return is the same route. Timetables given by Google Maps for each leg (train and bus) are quite accurate. Please consult there.
