We meet at the Talstation Schauinslandbahn located past the little village of Günterstal, just south of the city, in a valley. We will take the cable car up to the top of the mountain. Those who are courageous enough to climb the top of the lookout tower will be rewarded with a great view over the black forest and towards the Vogesen in France. After we walk to the Halde for some cake like the classic Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte (Black Forest Cherry Cake).

Sunday - a day of rest, and closed shops--except for our favorite cafe! Morning - meeting for a coffee and fresh-baked goodies or ice cream (or both!) at Cafe Scheinpflug, owned by a good friend, and where Estella has been showcasing her treats for the past year. Afternoon - Heading to Colmar, France to visit "Little Venice" and the iconic town of the Alsace. Colmar is a picturesque little city with boutique shops and a lovely central market.
