Welcome Dinner - Kartoffelhaus

5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We welcome our families to a welcome dinner at das Kartoffelhaus - where Estella worked for many years and began her gastronomy career. Estella still works with closely with the Kartoffelhaus team. Many of her recipe creations are part of their menu. Please Note: We will only cover a first drink to toast (non-alcholic spritzer) and the appetizer.

Schauinsland - Cable Car, Black Forest sights & walk, and snacks at Die Halde

Please bring sport shoes and summer clothes, Sunglasses and water. For those who get easily hungry a snack for the hike (fruit, Brezel, sandwich) might be a good idea. Check the weather, maybe a rain jacket or umbrella

Meeting point: Tram stop "Günterstalstraße" (Wiehre) at 11:45 ! Tram No. 2 departs 12:02 toward Günterstal, then Bus No. 21 to Bohrer/Schauinslandbahn cable car station. On the Schauinsland: We would love to take you on a short hike to the 360° lookout tower, then an easy 2 km walk to "Die Halde" for a small Vesper and traditional Black Forest Cake. IF YOU'RE LATE at the meeting point: Take Tram 2 (green) south to the final stop "Freiburg, Dorfstraße" Transfer to Bus 21 toward Schauinslandbahn (cable car valley station) RETURN Last cable car down: 5:00 pm (we probably do not make it back in time) We return a different way: Bus 141 at XX:54 → Kirchzarten station → regional train back to Freiburg. ⚠️ This return route does not pass the cable car valley station. Please leave your cars in Freiburg and take the tram / bus to the valley station.

☕️ Coffee, 🍦Ice Cream & Enjoying Freiburg

11:00 am - 6:00 pm

Sunday - a day of rest, and closed shops--except for our favorite cafe! Morning - for those who want, we can meet for a coffee and fresh-baked goodies or ice cream (or both!) at Cafe Scheinpflug, owned by a good friend, and where Estella has been baking the last year. Most of Estella's family will leave this day. We can keep plans open for now and decide more spontaneously who wants to do what as the day approaches. Please react and respond to polls and questions in the Whatsapp Community group.

Visit Goetheanum Dornach (close to Basel)

10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Possible departure to Goetheanum / Dornach Switzerland Freiburg Main Station: i.e. 9:04 am ICE 275 (44 min) --> Basel SBB 3 min walk to Tram S3 to Laufen --> trip to Dornach Arlesheim (10 min) --> walk to the Goetheanum (about 20 min). (there is more option for departure available and also return trains go every other hour) On the way back we can enjoy Basel for the afternoon, before we head back to Freiburg via train.
