If you would have told either of us 10 years ago that a last minute concert ticket would change our lives forever… we never would have believed you! Our story starts just before the Kenny Chesney “Country Fest” concert in 2022, Allie wanted to go to the concert but didn’t have a set plan just yet. One of her best friends (now bridesmaid!!) told her to join her and her friends from high school. She didn’t know it yet, but just hours before the show, her future husband would be persuaded to take the extra ticket that very same friend group she was blindly joining had left over. At the tailgate, they met and instantly hit it off. They were inseparable for the rest of the night… especially considering Anthony stayed with Allie after she realized she had left her wallet behind in the stadium once the show ended. His chivalry at the end of that night is what really sold Allie, and they haven’t left each other’s side ever since! The story doesn’t stop there! About a year and half after the two met that day in August, Anthony decided it was time to design the perfect ring. He held on to the engagement ring for 7 months before he decided on the perfect time and place to propose. Almost 2 years to the day we met, Anthony proposed to Allie on August 31st, 2024 at Zion National Park in Utah. Allie almost spoiled the proposal the night before they were to board their flight. We were arguing about where to put our hiking boots since the luggage was full. She asked Anthony to take everything out of his backpack and replace it with all his shoes to make better use of space. Little did she know the ring was inside one of his shoes already packed! Back to the proposal itself… Allie assumed they were simply picking a beautiful meadow with the canyons behind them at sunset to take pictures at before a nice dinner at a local steakhouse, when in reality, Anthony had that plan and more in mind! The weather wasn’t looking too great that night, so Allie suggested they move their plans to the next night because it looked like it was going to be better! Anthony was floored, and adamant it be that night. Once we were heading out the door of our tent, Anthony shooed Allie off into the car while he went back inside to “grab his wallet”. Code for “putting the ring in my pocket” before they headed down the road to take pictures! Allie could tell something was on his mind when they were driving 20 mph down the road Anthony was just flying down the day before. She even tried reaching for his hand and noticed it was unusually clammy. When they arrived at the meadow, they saw another group taking pictures. Anthony was not happy, hoping they would have the meadow all to themselves. Regardless, they set up their phone and tripod a bit away from the other session going on. We were waiting for sunset to hit and for this group to go away, when we hear the photographer shout over to us asking if they could switch spots to take pictures in front of her model’s “favorite flowers”. Anthony says no, while Allie shouts back “sure!” Even after this photographer wraps up, they linger around for a bit. Anthony was getting antsy waiting for them to leave and figured we should just start taking pictures. In that moment, the group ended up leaving! Everything was coming together. The video was on, and Anthony turns Allie around and gets down on one knee. In the middle of the proposal, you can even hear a car driving down the quiet road beeping at us! The moment was so magical, and we are so grateful to have the video to forever look back on. Our families are just as grateful for that video, considering it was around 10 pm back at home and they were waiting oh so patiently all day long! That night was made extra special by the steakhouse we visited just afterwards, and we soaked in being a newly engaged couple for the following 2 days we had left in Utah and Las Vegas. Our story doesn’t stop there, and is still being written…
