The first national park is a favorite of the Anthony and Amanda's for short hiking and animal watching. The park is about 1 hour from Jackson and we recommend driving through Grand Teton National Park to reach the South Entrance of Yellowstone - it's a two-for-one experience and a scenic drive. While in Yellowstone, make sure to visit the Grand Prismatic Spring and Biscuit Basin (for hot springs) and Hayden or Lamar Valley for animal watching!
Just a 20 minute drive from the center of Jackson, Grand Teton National Park is one of the most stunning locations for a hike or scenic drive. For an easy hike, take the Jenny Lake boat ride across to Hidden Falls. There are also more challenging hikes throughout the park (Delta Lake, Amphitheater Lake, etc.), but for those make sure you take bear spray - which you can rent in town! For any ANY hiking or experiences in Grand Teton, make sure to arrive EARLY. Parking lots fill up quickly.
For a rustic off-road hot springs experience, Granite Hot Springs is a little gem worth the trip. The drive is about 1-hour from Jackson and is up a long dirt road, but the views are spectacular. Price for entrance is $8/adults and $5/kids - CASH ONLY!!! Strongly suggest taking a picnic lunch and enjoying the view along Granite Creek.
The BEST pastries and coffee in town! Suggest ordering thru the app or visiting their other location, Picnic for more of a local hangout.
