When Joe and Nikita met for the first time, Joe was in his sophomore year at West Point and Nikita was just beginning her freshman year. Now, West Point has many stringent rules, but THE RULE that applies to this story is the strict prohibition of upperclassmen dating freshman. However, THE RULE didn't stop this couple destined for one another. Joe, a rising star on the Marathon team, met Nikita when she became a promising new recruit. Joe immediately recognized Nikita's high potential for running and her even higher potential to be his girlfriend. After chasing Nikita around West Point and as far as Canada, Nikita finally agreed to go on a date with Joe despite THE RULE. These two quickly fell in love while their friends and teammates turned a blind eye to the mischief. Unfortunately, leadership caught wind of their rule breaking and Joe and Nikita were kicked off of the Marathon team for a semester and had to walk 100 hours in Central Area as punishment for breaking the rule. They were also forbidden from seeing each other, so they spent six months writing each other love letters. Luckily, their relationship only grew stronger from the separation and when Nikita finally became a sophomore, they were more in love than ever! On September 22, 2019, Nikita and Joe will have been dating for almost five years and this love story that started in West Point, New York will begin a new chapter in Beaver Creek, Colorado.
