As many of you know we met at a cooking class! It was love at first sight across the room, we locked eyes right as we were both putting our meals in the oven.. well that's Christian's version of the story when someone asks. The other version, the more boring but true version is, we met online through Bumble. We were both in the Concord, NH area at the time and as luck would have it we matched. We talked for weeks on the app and then finally switched to texts. The relationship grew from there and finally met in person months later on Thanksgiving of 2019. From there on it has been one adventure after the other and we wouldn't have it any other way!

On August 31st, 2023, the couple was camping up in Old Orchard Beach in Maine. This was their 3-year anniversary of camping together, which anyone who knows them knows has become a big part of their lives and their favorite thing to do. When everyone arrived at the campground, Christian asked Annika if she wanted to join him and some of their friends to take the moped scooters down to the pier and take sunset pictures. Annika of course said yes and they headed that way. When they got there it was like any other trip, walking around, joking, and enjoying the view. Annika, like always, decided she wanted to take a nice picture with Christian. Now normally, this takes some convincing but today he was ready for that question and immediately said okay and had a spot in mind to take the picture. While a friend was taking the pictures of them, Christian thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get down on his knee and ask her the important question. While he was bending down, Annika, not paying attention or realizing what was happening, tried to get him to stand up so they could take a nice picture together. Finally when she realized what was happening, Christian asked her if she would do him the honor of spending the rest of their lives together. Annika started crying and of course said yes!
