A Seattle classic! It is super easy to get to via the monorail, and it is right next to a few great museums - MoPop, Chihuly, and the Pacific Science Center. If you are visiting multiple places, be sure to check out the Seattle CityPass for discounts.
Pike Place Market is a waterfront market featuring fresh seafood, specialty foods, and artisanal crafts. We highly recommend grabbing some cheese at Beecher's, baked goods from Le Panier, and some ginger beer from Rachel's Ginger Beer! It is also a great place to pick up some souvenirs.
Discovery Park is the beautiful, oceanfront park where Jake proposed! There are a few trails that are shaded with large trees and a small lighthouse with gorgeous views of the ocean. It is the city's largest park and a great way to get some nature without leaving the city.
If you are interested in shopping and food, there is a fun shopping area close to the Lotte Hotel, centered on the intersection of 5th Ave and Pine St. Notable spots include Pacific Place and Westlake center. The area has a metro station, monorail station, and an assortment of shops.
If you love coffee, Seattle has a unique Starbucks Reserve Roastery with special blends of coffee, a large gift shop, and a variety of baked goods. You can watch the coffee grinding and roasting process, as well as get an espresso based drink at the bar.
Seattle is the birth place of Boeing, so it has a museum that holds one of the largest air and space collections in the US.
There are a few ferries that will take you to the Orcas Islands or the San Juan Islands for a quick day trip. We recommend booking tickets ahead of time if you are planning on taking a car on the ferry.
If you have got a car and love hiking, we recommend checking out Mount Rainier, which is about 1.5-2 hours south of Seattle. If you are looking for hikes that are a bit closer, we recommend checking out the mountains that are approximately 1 hour east of Seattle.
The Gold Creek Pond Trail is a flat, half hour hike located approximately one hour east of Seattle.
