The average daily temperature in Playa del Carmen in February ranges from 22°C (72°F) to 29°C (84°F). Days tend to be warm and comfortable, while evenings are mild and balmy.
As a rule of thumb, you should stick to bottled or purified water in Mexico. All of the restaurants and hotels only serve purified water and YES, the ice is safe. The key to good health when traveling ANYWHERE is hydration and sunscreen.

The peso is Mexico's national currency, though many places in Cancun, Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen accept U.S. dollars for convenience. Major credit cards are also accepted in most establishments. Banks offer currency exchange during business hours. Universal ATMs are widely available for cash withdrawals at the current exchange rate, and most ATMs have menus in English. The ATMs only dispense pesos in most cases.
