Naha Stone out front was lifted by King Kamehameha.
Rainbow Falls look out.
Wailuku river look out point.
Look this place up on google maps. If visiting Rainbow falls, be sure to continue on past the hospital to view this water fall from the bridge. Park off to the side of the road and proceed onto the hike or viewing bridge for pictures. As a child Ikaika would jump from the top of these falls into the pool below with old-time friends.
Home of the famous Stone Cookie. Butter horns, musubis, and monkey bread. The favorites according to Ikaika. Pit stop before heading to Volcano National Park.
A great place to learn about Hawaii's past, present, and future. If possible try to see the 3D/iMax movie they haver offered.
White sandy beach lots of space great to catch the sunset at.
All the way at the end of the road. You will see port-a-pottys and a wooden hoist on the edge of the cliff, this is how you know you made it. Way out there, this is the southern most point of the U.S. Cliff jumping sometimes allowed but recently the uncle fishermen been getting angry at everyone not even allowing the jumpers. BE CAREFUL!
This could easily be an all day activity and even a multiple day adventure if wanting to see the whole park. No camping. Halema'uma'u crater is a must see as well as the Thurston Lava Tube. Stop at the visitor center first for directions and options for the day. Be sure to bring your national parks pass for free entry.
Modern feel good Hawaiian clothing store, if the owner Sharayah is there tell her Annie and Ikaika sent you!
Covered by the most recent lava flow, this beach is where Ikaika learned to surf. once a rocky boat ramp, now turned into black sandy beach surf spot.
Strawberry ice cream slushy!!! gotta try it
If getting an early start in Hilo, stop in for okazuya, a Japanese style take out box lunch. Ikaika's loaded box and recommendations include: spam musubis, cone sushis, nori chicken, shoyu red hot dogs, shoyu chicken, shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, ono tempura, potato hash, and a can of Liliko'i Hawaiian Sun.
Main surf spot on the Hilo side.
Valley of The Kings
Paved hike that's costs about $30, very cool hike through the rainforest next to the ocean.
Cool wooden playground. Ikaika's favorite slide on the whole island. Rest stop when exploring Captain Cook area.
