The Philly PHLASH is a visitors’ bus with a downtown loop that is a quick, easy and inexpensive ($8 for 2-day pass, $5 for day pass, $2 for single ride, FREE for 65+ seniors and kids under 4 years old) connection to key Philadelphia historic attractions and cultural institutions. PHLASH provides service to each stop every 15 minutes, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October. We have provided a link to the map of all the PHLASH stops. If you have any questions about it, just ask Betty & John Kubicek (Greg's parents) or Debbie Wallace (Annie's Aunt), who all have used it and loved it.
This is where we will have our reception. It is Greg’s favorite museum in the world. While you’ll have time during the reception to explore the galleries, if you want more time to look around, we suggest visiting beforehand or on Sunday.
This is a great art museum with lots of galleries to explore. It’s also home to the famous Rocky Steps and the Rocky statute (bottom, right side of the steps).
If the line is too long to get in, a local hack is to walk in front of the building along Chestnut Street and see it from the outside.
This is Annie’s favorite museum in the city. It is new and has lots of exciting, interactive exhibits.
If you really want to get in the Halloween spirit, you should do one of the haunted tours here. We go every year with the medical students who Greg mentors.
Walnut Street between 18th and Broad (aka 14th) Streets has some of the best shopping in Philly.
There are many great restaurants and boutique shops on 13th Street between Chestnut and Walnut Streets. If you go to El Vez, be sure to get a blood orange margarita, which is our favorite!
This is a great place to go for a run, walk or bike ride along the Schuylkill River.
We often grocery shop at Reading Terminal Market. It also has many great food stalls - our favorites are Beiler’s Donuts, DiNic’s, The Original Turkey, and Meltkraft.
One of our favorite donut bakeries. Don't be intimidated by the long line, which usually moves pretty fast. We highly recommend the blueberry fritters.
Greg loves the warm donuts and fried chicken that they serve here.
Cira Green is a beautiful green, outdoor space and bar on top of a parking garage, which has amazing views of the city skyline.
This place has the best selection of Belgian beers.
We’re not coffee drinkers, but we hear that this place has great coffee.
Greg prefers Geno’s cheesteaks, but Annie prefers Pat’s cheesesteaks. You should get one of each and then had to the Garage (a nearby bar) to enjoy both of them.

This is a BYOC (aka bring your own cheesesteak) bar with a great beer selection. We recommend getting cheesesteaks at Pat’s and/or Geno’s and then bringing them here.
Better than Sheets or 7/11, Wawa is a great place to get coffee, sandwiches, meatballs in a cup (Annie’s favorite), or other small grocery items. There are many of them all over the city, but the one at 1707 Arch Street is one of the closest to the hotels that we recommended.
This Whole Foods, which is near the hotels that we recommended, has a great beer selection and many different food stands.
This city-sized Target is a great place to pick up anything that you forgot!
Annie has had her hair blown out here many times and highly recommends it.
This blow-out salon is right next to Annie's office, so it has been a go-to spot for her.
There are a lot of great nail salons around the city, but this is Annie's current favorite. Their manicure includes a shoulder massage, which is the best!
There are many great nail salons, but this one gives a particularly long-lasting manicure and pedicure.
I got my makeup and eye lashes done here for our engagement photos. It was reasonably price and they did a great job.
