New Hampshire is so proud of their covered bridges! In particular, Newport is proud of the history of this charming covered bridge and the perfect picnic spot right next to it. One of the oldest covered bridges still in use, Newport residents love to tell the story of how, after the tragic fire which consumed most of their beloved bridge, the town came together to fund the restoration of the bridge using only the building tactics of its original construction. It’s quite a tale!
