Bardstown Road is the main corridor here, and it's lined with local stores, restaurants, and bars. Carmichael's is the best bookstore in town.
Neighborhood eats: Get a burger and beer at Holy Grale, wine and tapas at Louvino, or tacos and margs at Taco Luchador.
NuLu and Butchertown
Explore these areas full of locally-owned restaurants, bars, and shops right on the edge of downtown.
Neighorbood eats: Butchertown Grocery, Mayan Cafe, Decca, Rye, and Wiltshire on Main! Reservations are strongly recommended. Royal's Hot Chicken is a good casual go-to.
Galaxie Bar has some of the best margaritas in town, and Garage Bar's patio is hard to beat!
Enjoy some Urban Bourbon Trail stops here too! Rabbit Hole is a modern distillery in NuLu, and Copper & Kings is unique as a brandy distillery.
