Anne and Drew knew if they were going to get married in front of everyone, they would want to do it at the church they met at. The only problem is that the church is REALLY tiny and there are LOTS of YOU! So to make matters easier, we plan on becoming lawfully husband & wife a couple months prior to the reception. However, this doesn't mean we can't celebrate in the same way in June!
Short answer... nope. If you got the save the date in the mail, you are invited. Instead of mailing things out twice, then expecting you to mail us RSVPs back, and us sorting through them... we opted for the online route. Better for the environment, and more importantly better for everyone's sanity. Just click on the RSVP section of this website and put down whether you're coming, if you're bringing a guest, and whether you're camping. No trip to the post office required. You're welcome.
We kindly ask that you RSVP by May 1st. However, the sooner the better!
Yes! There are a lot of kids amongst our friends and family, and we wouldn't want anybody to miss our big day if they couldn't find a sitter. ***DISCLAIMER: Though the site of our venue is pretty large with lots of room to run and play, it is also directly beside the Ohio River, posing somewhat of a danger to little ones, especially if unsupervised. Keep this in mind when choosing whether to bring your child or not! Also, one last consideration is that there will be alcohol served throughout the night, and if this is something that you wish to expose your child to, please find arrangements for them prior to attending. Our bartenders will be expressively told not to serve anyone under 21!
The shuttle buses will be leaving from the Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn at 530pm and going directly the the wedding reception venue. There will be trips on the hour/half-hour back and forth from the hotels and venue. The final shuttle buses will be leaving the venue at 2am for you party animals who would rather not camp and enjoy a nice bed and warm shower at your hotel!
Uh... yeah! We've decided to cut out that weird sit down dinner where you eat a big ol' steak and potato and then fall into the dreaded food coma for the next 2 hours. What we will be doing is having progressive appetizers throughout the entire event, from when you arrive until the wee hours of the night! We also have a couple other little foodie surprises up our sleeve for the night, so we assure you, you won't go hungry during this party.
We're still finalizing some details for the evening, but for the most part it looks like this... A cocktail hour filled with yard games and appetizers will begin at 6pm. The band (Bluewater Kings out of Columbus) will start at 730 and play until midnight(ish), with food and other little surprises sprinkled in between. We'll keep the music playing after the band finishes, and if you're camping, the party will end when you say it ends.
For those of you who choose to stay with us after the last shuttle leaves at 2am, we STRONGLY encourage you to stay for the night rather than drive. This is where the camping thing comes in. We will have an area set up for camping directly adjacent to the reception area. Please feel free to set up your tent during the day on Saturday prior to or during the event. There will be a bathroom truck nearby, so it'll be a little more glampy than campy!
The show must go on, and that's how we planned it. There will be 2 large tents for guests, rain or shine, at the venue with tables/chairs to sit at. If it rains, the band and dance floor will be under the tent so that the party can go on without a hitch.
This isn't a black tie affair, but its also not a 4th of July Summer bash either. Maybe somewhere in-between with a band and open bar. So dress kind of nice, but also weather appropriate.
Two words... OPEN BAR. Beer, wine, mixed drinks, a little bubbly will all be provided. For those of you who don't partake, there will be tea, coffee, punch. There will also be tons of water on hand because its important to stay hydrated guys!
Definitely. If you are one of our friends or family that live nearby, by all means please drive directly to the venue. We'll have an area set up for parking (in a grassy field) that'll be within close walking distance to all the action. However, if you are staying in one of the hotels in Marietta and will be drinking, we encourage you to take the shuttle!
Not really. Unfortunately what makes the venue a nice spot for a wedding reception makes it a crummy place to order an Uber/Lyft. We just don't really have them in this area. Maybe if we renew our vows in 25 years here in Newport this will be an option!
In fact, we encourage you to! With parties/receptions of this size, things can change a little or a lot, and we want you to be in the know! So please check back with us here at least a week before coming to know everything that is going on!
Contact us prior to the wedding day! Text us, call us, or send us a message through this Zola website. We also have a joint email AnneDrew2020@gmail.com that you can contact us through. We'll also be posting a phone number to reach us by if you don't already have it here 2 weeks before the event.
