Anne & Drew's story began roughly 26 years ago while attending church as young children. Many a time, Anne would walk to the house next door to the church, where Drew lived, and ask for him to come hang out with her at Sunday school. Throughout the years, even though they eventually went different paths as they attended their respective state schools, they remained great friends, attending concerts and hanging out together in their spare time. Their time together was coming, it just was going to take a couple of years...
A quarter-century in the making! Anne and Drew FINALLY began dating in the Spring of 2016. What started as a couple drinks at a bar turned into cooking meals together in Drew's apartment. Not soon after, Drew invited Anne to live with him by presenting her very own chest of drawers and a closet for her clothes... things were getting serious! Looming in the background was the fact that Drew was about to move three hours away to attend medical school in Lewisburg, WV. Would the romance remain? Of course it would! For 2 years, distance couldn't stand in the way of these two. Weekends were filled with fun dates, including skiing, kayaking trips, concerts, visiting friends, or just hunkering down with a bottle of wine while watching an entire season of Game of Thrones at home.
Anne and Drew decided to plant some roots in the mid-Ohio Valley by buying a house together in 2018, which put them both within walking distance to work and school. A place where they garden, puzzle, cook breakfast, and listen to records, Drew knew that this was a special place, one deserving of a special moment. So after a day of hiking at Hocking Hills (Anne's favorite), and getting a couple beers at Eclipse Beer Hall in Athens (Drew's favorite), with ice cream in between, Drew popped the question as they were sitting in their favorite spot on the sunporch back at their house. Anne said YES, of course, and they celebrated with champagne!
Even though we wanted to wait until June 6th to get married, we just couldn't wait that long! Maybe we have itchy ring fingers or something... if that's a thing. Anyways, we got legal in front of a judge at the Marietta court house on February 3rd. We enjoyed dinner, with our parents, at the Buckley House that evening after we said I DO.
Though we've already got rings on our fingers, what wedding is complete without a big ol' shindig with family & friends? We'll have a live band, dance floor under the stars, food served throughout the evening, and other fun things to celebrate the occasion! We can't wait to bring everyone together who have meant everything to us over our lifetime for a night of fun and dancing!
