This used to be Anne's neighborhood brewery, Anne and Amy used to go here often for beers. (Bonus: Woman owned brewery that supports progressive causes!)
Every year there's a Christmas market in Love Park and surrounding City Hall. There are stalls with mulled wine and pop-up bars, there is also an ice skating rink outside of City Hall and a light show that gets projected onto City Hall.
Anne's favorite bar in Philadelphia.
Amy's favorite bar in Philadelphia
If you're looking for a great place to eat, check out 13th Street in the Gayborhood, great shopping at Open House if you're looking for unique Philly souvenirs.
The gem of the Eraserhood (the neighborhood Anne lived in for most of her time in Philly) it's a highline style, elevated park.
Who doesn't love a fully graffitied bar, with good food (and veggie option), that hosts a monthly group of uber progressives upstairs.
Anne's favorite cheesesteak. Amy is more undecided on her favorite.
Go here hungry. Anne's a sucker for a DiNic's Roast Pork Sandwich and Amy loves a cookie from the Famous 4th Street Cookie Company
Great french restaurant right on Rittenhouse Square. Amy and I love going here to sit outside and people watch (especially if we have Freddie with us!) They do a great brunch and good drinks. Excellent option if you're looking for a nice meal close to the Hotel.
For anyone in Philly for the first time - a must see (tickets are required but the tour is only so-so. No tickets required to see the Liberty Bell.
