Legend has it that this stone tower on the grounds of the Bluebeard Castle Hotel was built by the pirate Bluebeard for his lover, Mercedita. Neat little tour gives you local lore about the mythical Bluebeard. Lots of discoveries from sunken ships are looking dated here including pipes, chinaware, and cutlery. You can touch a barnacle encrusted sword. View of St. Thomas from the roof is worth the $10/person- 20 minutes tour.

At the Landmarks Society’s Whim Museum near Frederiksted on St. Croix, tour a preserved mill and the greathouse built by plantation owners, along with outbuildings like the old cookhouse. The Whim is a great example of island history. It shows the plantation house, slave quarters, cane mill, and cook house, etc and you can ask for a tour of the home by guides.

Trunk Bay is a body of water and a beach on St. John in the USVI, part of the Virgin Islands National Park. Trunk Bay is named for the Leatherback turtle, which is endemic to the U.S.V.I. and is locally known as trunks. Trunk Bay is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Another great spot for snorkeling & swimming! On the main beach in front of buildings A, B, and C is where most people snorkel. The reef is in front of C building and you jut go out and stay on the perimeter. If you go straight out there is a grassy area in the middle out a bit. That is where you will find turtles, rays, and squid.
