Anne and I met in 2015 while working together in Atlanta, GA. Although Anne claims that she’s had her eye on me since the day we met, she first caught my attention at a concert we went to with friends in August 2015. She knew the words to every song and was not afraid to sing and dance along. A few months later, what started as a night out with friends quickly turned into Anne and I spending hours together going from bar to bar on our own. Weeks later, Anne’s dad was coming into town and she insisted that I meet him. We spent that Saturday watching the Alabama game together and the rest is history. We have had countless happy times over the last five years. Spending time with my family in Georgia, and visiting Anne’s family and friends in Cincinnati, Sea Island, and everyone's soon to be favorite place, Leland, Michigan. Finding the perfect way to ask Anne to be my wife during the crazy year that is 2020 was no easy task. However, with the help of one of Anne’s bridesmaids and her boss, I was able to plan a secret last-minute surprise trip to Kiawah, South Carolina. The first night of our trip I made dinner reservations for 7:30pm, but as far as Anne knew, they were for 6pm. “Why so early?” she asked. My excuse was that I wanted to take a few nice pictures while it was still light out, which she believed. Earlier in the day, we crossed a bridge over a pond while heading to the beach and I knew that it was the perfect spot. As we walked along the bridge to get a picture before our “6pm” dinner reservation, Anne turned around to see me down on one knee! We spent the rest of the trip biking, hanging out at the beach, and toasting to our engagement. Anne and I are so excited for our future together as husband and wife. We are incredibly grateful for everyone who is making the trip up to Michigan to celebrate with us. Words cannot express how much we love each of you. October 2nd, 2021 cannot come soon enough!
