Anna had just moved to DC for her first job out of college, in a city where she didn't know anyone and had to find an apartment in a weekend. Oliver was born and raised in DC, and like most DC natives, is very proud of his hometown. One weekend, Oliver was dropping off a friend in his characteristic blue '95 Ford Ranger. Being from New York, trucks had always been something of a novelty for Anna. It was that quick experience that would change our lives forever. A friend of Oliver's made it her personal mission to set them up. At first they had regular lunch dates near the White House, until they gradually started playing pool and exploring the city. They quickly realized they enjoyed a shared love of gardening, biking, cooking, and traveling. Several years later they moved in together, followed by some time apart when Anna went to nursing school in Baltimore. Throughout their relationship, New Orleans has been a favorite vacation spot, so it was high on their list of places to move to. In December 2019, they loaded up the 26 foot Penske truck, car, and new puppy and moved to the Big Easy. 2020 was a difficult year with COVID, navigating a new city, and working in the ER as a new nurse, but Oliver made it one to remember when he proposed in Audubon Park during one of their semi-routine picnics with Scrabble, wine and snacks. Family and friends has always been a shared value for Anna and Oliver, so they hope you will join them celebrate their union in New Orleans this Fall!
