Welcome Party: Casual Whatever that may mean to you! Come in jeans, come in shorts, come in your favorite summery dress. Ceremony and Reception: Black tie For men this means a tuxedo or a dark suit. For women this means a long dress. After Party: Swim attire If you're ready to switch out of your formal attire for a swimsuit, please be our guest! Farewell Brunch: Casual
We're so glad you asked. All events will involve walking and standing on grass. The grass can be uneven in places and depending on weather, it may be soggy. We **strongly** recommend that you avoid stilettos or any other shoes that might sink into the grass.
For anyone wishing to partake, we'll open the pool and you can jump on in. Dancing will also continue late into the night and we'll keep the drinks and snacks flowing. Note: there is no pressure at all to swim! For anyone wishing to bring a swimsuit, please know that we will have a bag check attendant for any belongings that you wish to drop off at the start of the reception and access later. We will also have changing spaces. We will also have a lifeguard on duty.
Parking is available at the G.W. Tavern. There are a handful of spots available right outside the door to the restaurant, as well as more spots available on the restaurant grounds if you drive down a hill just past the restaurant/to the right of the restaurant as you face it.
Ceremony: there is free parking behind St. Michael's Church, as well as on the street in front of the church. There is also free parking throughout the town of Litchfield. Reception: we will have valet parking at our home.
Ceremony: St. Michael's Church is ADA compliant with ramp access to the left of the building as you enter. Reception: Alas, our home is not ADA compliant and the event will entail walking/standing on grass. However, steps can be avoided and we will have an ADA compliant restroom.
The drive from St. Michael's Church in Litchfield to our home (Red-Wing) in Bethlehem is about 15 minutes. For folks driving to the reception themselves, please note that Google Maps sometimes tells you to turn prematurely, down the wrong driveway. Our house has a pond out front and a big tent will be visible just behind the pond. If you see this, you will know you are in the right place!
