Things To Do/ Where To Eat

Here are a few of our favorite places to eat and things to do around town including where we met and where we went on our first date. This could give you a little tour around town without us; day and night. There is no reason to be bored in this town!

Colorado State University

Fort Collins, CO 80523
, (970) 491-6444

Check out where we met! Google maps will take you to the oval, a great place to start.

Horsetooth Reservoir

CO

Check out the views, hike down to the water. One of the best places right next to Fort Collins with a 15 min drive from town.

Horsetooth Mountain Park

5505 West County Road 38 East, Fort Collins, CO 80526
, (970) 498-7000

Classic hike in Fort Collins. Moderate with a little rock scrambling right at the top. If from sea level, bring lots of water and sunscreen. Don't get altitude sickness! Approx. 4 hr round trip.

Rocky Mountain National Park

CO
(970) 586-1206

Stunning national park just 45 min from Fort Collins. Hopefully Hw 34 is open at the wedding, otherwise go further south to 66. Estes park is a gem along with RMNP, take the short hike to Bear Lake. Its one of Darren's favorites. $20/car day pass to get into the park.

The Big "A"

Fort Collins, CO 80526

Darren proposed at the top of the "A" hike. Great little hike, about 45 min up and 30 min down.

Picnic Rock Natural Area

2777 Poudre Canyon Road, Bellvue, CO 80512
, (970) 416-2815

This will start you up the Poudre canyon, great spot to check out and drive through the canyon.

Devil's Backbone Trailhead

Devils Backbone Trail, Loveland, CO 80538

Across the street from the Venue and a nice little hike.

New Belgium Brewing Company

500 Linden Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 221-0524

Probably one of the most well known things out of Fort Collins. They have a free 90 min tour with free beer! Book a tour in advance on the website.

Annual Flower Trial Garden

1401 Remington Street, Fort Collins, CO 80523
, (970) 491-7179

The CSU garden will be beautiful this time of year! Its located at the University Center for the Arts building which has gorgeous giant columns at its entrance. That's how you'll know you are at the right place.

Sundance Steak House & Saloon

2716 East Mulberry Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 484-1600

The place for country swing and line dancing in town. We learned to swing dance here with our group of friends freshman year of college.

Cafe Mexicali

2925 South College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80525
, (970) 266-9292

Best Mexican-ish food in Fort Collins. Get it with red and white sauce...

Krazy Karl's Pizza

1124 West Elizabeth Street, Fort Collins, CO 80521
, (970) 224-2000

Best pizza on the planet. Get "the one with the onion rings" on a spicy ranch base. You won't regret it. Says Darren. Annalisa would just like to say that cream cheese on your pizza actually is delicious; little nubs of warm cheesy goodness go great on almost any flavor selection. Except don't get the onion ring one. There are better flavors.

Stuft a burger bar

210 South College Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 484-6377

Great burgers in the heart of Old Town. Once in Old Town, park and walk around to check out all the different shops and the Old Town Square!

La Luz

200 Walnut Street A, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 493-1129

This was our first date! Darren thought it wasn't great but Annalisa thought it was fine.

Walrus Ice Cream

125 West Mountain Avenue, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 482-5919

We also stopped here on our first date! Good Fort Collins ice cream.

Fuzzy's Taco Shop

1335 West Elizabeth Street, Fort Collins, CO 80521
, (970) 407-8226

Where everyone goes to get good tacos and margaritas.

Howling Cow Cafe

5821 West Co Road 54E, Bellvue, CO 80512
, (970) 980-9560

We likes this place. They have the best chocolate milk and its the perfect stop after tubing the Poudre canyon.

Social

Old Town Square, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 449-5606

20's speakeasy in the heart of Old Town in the coolest bar in Fort Collins with great cocktails. You'll want to dress up a little go there.

Ace Gillett's Lounge

239 S College Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 449-4797

Great jazz bar with good cocktails but the brownie on their menu is the best we have ever had. Get it.

Silver Grill Cafe

218 Walnut Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 484-4656

This is the breakfast spot. Its been open since forever.

The Mayor of Old Town

632 South Mason Street, Fort Collins, CO 80524
, (970) 682-2410

You can taste all of Northern Colorado here with 100 beers on tap. They also have an excellent pretzel.

Holiday Twin Drive In Theatre

2206 South Overland Trail, Fort Collins, CO 80526
, (970) 221-1244

Yes, there is still a drive in! Get yourself a truck and a free love-seat (craigslist) and enjoy the show! (It gets busy much before the show starts; get there early. Show starts at sundown, always a double feature, cash only.)

For all the days along the way
