We met at work. Our backgrounds in environment, energy, and policy got us hired at the same company at the same time! Annalisa started two months after Chris, once she finished Graduate School at the University of Michigan. On her first introductory call with Chris on Microsoft Teams, she left a smiley face by his name in her notes because of how much she enjoyed the conversation. After a few months of working remotely and never meeting face-to-face, we met in-person at a Detroit Tigers game company outing. After a few drinks, Annalisa made the first move by walking right over to Chris's seat in the stands where he sat by himself and struck up a conversation that lasted all night. Chris asked Annalisa on their first official date to Pinckney Recreation Area for a hike with Annalisa's dog, Gizmo, and it clearly went well...we’ve been together ever since.

Chris surprised Annalisa by proposing on the bridge where they took their first photo together during a hike. He hired a photographer to jump out of the woods to capture the moment and planned an entire engagement party at their house with all their friends and family! Great job, Chris!
