Travel Note
The Steamship Authority is one of the main ferries that travels from Woods Hole, MA to Martha's Vineyard that allows cars onboard (entry ports at Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven). Travel time is 45 minutes. Ferry reservations for a cost are only required if you are bringing your car to the island. For passenger travel only, you can purchase tickets online or at the ferry terminal, but do not need to reserve a date or time. Food and drinks are available. The Island Queen is another ferry option that carries passengers only from Falmouth, MA to Oak Bluffs, MA. Parking in Falmouth is available just 200 yards from the dock. The Seastreak is a fast ferry available that carries passengers only from New Bedford, MA to Oak Bluffs or Vineyard Haven on Martha's Vineyard. Parking in New Bedford is available. Please note, the NYC/NJ route to Martha's Vineyard is not operating for the 2023 season.
Flight
Martha's Vineyard has one main airport located in the middle of the island in West Tisbury. During the summer season, there are many flight options available on major airlines (JetBlue and Delta are two) as well as Cape Air (smaller planes, typically leaving from Boston and Hyannis). Direct flights are available from NYC airports (JFK, LGA) and Boston (BOS) via JetBlue and Delta. The airport does have car rentals available with Avis, Budget, and Hertz. Hotel
Our room block is at Summercamp in Oak Bluffs. The hotel is conveniently located close to Circuit Avenue (main street in OB, 0.4 miles/7 minute walk) and close to our reception venue - East Chop Beach Club (0.5 miles/11 minute walk). To reserve, please contact the hotel directly by calling 508-693-6611. Our room block is under Caplan/Avery Wedding. Please note, our block expired on April 23, 2023 for any remaining rooms not reserved. However, the hotel confirmed that guests can continue to call to book rooms if available and to mention our room block name. Per the hotel, rooms are double occupancy. More than 2 people, 13 and older will be charged an additional $50 a night per person per night. There is a 2-night minimum for our wedding weekend.
House Or Rental
House rentals on the island are also a great idea for larger groups/families and a popular option for many summer travelers. Airbnb and Vrbo are the main sources for rentals - there are many rentals available throughout the island. If there is anyone interested in renting a home with other wedding guests, we can put you in touch with an on island rental company that can assist with coordinating.
Shuttle

Transportation shuttle service will be available to bring guests from central locations in Edgartown and Oak Bluffs to our ceremony at St. Andrew's Church in Edgartown, then to our reception at East Chop Beach Club in Oak Bluffs, and back to the same central locations at the end of the night.
