Q&A

Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Attire is black tie optional. For women, we recommend a floor length gown or formal cocktail dress, with a block heel as there are brick streets at the ceremony and sand/wood decks at the reception. For gentlemen, we recommend a suit and tie or tuxedo. Most importantly, bring your dancing shoes!

Question

Is there parking available?

Answer

Parking is very limited at St. Andrew's Church (ceremony) and there is parking available at East Chop Beach Club (reception). Please note, transportation will be provided from Summercamp Hotel in Oak Bluffs at 3:45pm sharp to bring guests to St. Andrew's Church in Edgartown, then to the reception at East Chop Beach Club in Oak Bluffs after the ceremony, and after the reception at 11pm, buses will bring guests back to Summercamp Hotel, The Loft (after party, short walk from Summercamp), and back to Edgartown (corner of Church Street and Main Street). Cabs, Uber and Lyft are available; however, can be sparse depending on location and time of day. Bus public transportation (MV Transit Authority) is also available with multiple routes throughout the island.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we kindly request they stay at home and welcome the parents to enjoy a fun night out!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We'd love to celebrate with everyone; however, our venue has limited capacity. Please refer to your invitation which will indicate the number of guests we've included for your party.

Question

Are there any late night bars open on the island?

Answer

Please note that many restaurants close by 9 or 10pm. For those wishing to continue the festivities over the weekend, we suggest the below that generally are open past 10pm, all of which are located on the east side of the island: Vineyard Haven: Black Dog Tavern Oak Bluffs: Sand Bar, 20byNine, Offshore Ale House, Nancy's, The Loft, The Ritz, The Alley Edgartown: Port Hunter, The Wharf, The Atlantic, The Seafood Shanty

Question

How far is the ceremony to the reception?

Answer

The ceremony will be at St. Andrew's Church in Edgartown - about a 15 minute drive to the reception at East Chop Beach Club (ECBC) in Oak Bluffs. ECBC is about a 5 minute drive from the Oak Bluffs town center (Circuit Avenue).
