Donnelly's Soft Ice Cream
This is our absolute favorite place for soft-serve ice cream! There is only one flavor twisted with vanilla each day, each bite is delicious. This is about 20 minutes away from Lake Placid and is cash only.

Placid Boat Rentals has a variety of motor boats and paddle boats available for rent.
Golf
Whiteface Club & Resort and The Lake Placid Club are two scenic places to play golf with beautiful mountain vistas.
Hiking
The Adirondacks have beautiful hiking trails. Cobble Hill Trailhead, Mount Van Hoevenberg, and Mount Jo are scenic beginner options. The Adirondack Loj and Henry Woods offer more flat walking trails. If you are up for a challenge we recommend checking out one of the Adirondack 46ers!
High Falls Gorge
This is a beautiful place with walking paths and stunning views.
Explore Main Street
Lake Placid is a charming mountain village, and there are cute shops along Main Street. Our favorites include Mary Ballou Design, Pure Placid, and the Bookstore Plus. The town is built around Mirror Lake, this loop is about 3 miles and is a perfect flat, scenic walking or running path. For other shopping we recommend the Adirondack Store which is about 5 minutes from town. For a little bit of a longer drive, we recommend checking out Keene Valley for other fun home stores. Our favorite home and clothing store in Keene Valley is The Birch Store.
