I guess you could say we met through mutual friends. The first time I met Troy I had walked into the barn where all of the mechanic work for the Thompson clan takes place. That is where I met my future husband who crawled out from under a piece of farm equipment COVERED in grease and said: "Hey, I'm Baba." I never in a million years thought, at that moment, that this would be how I would be telling my children how I met their father, but here we are creating a love story I am proud to tell my children one day. Love comes at the most unexpected times and our relationship has been proof of that. But through it, all our love has blossomed into something I have prayed my whole life to find. In the following year after meeting Troy, through a lot of different things life threw at both of us, an awkward meeting led to an acquaintance, an acquaintance turned to a friend, a friend turned into a best friend, and my best friend turned into my boyfriend, and here we are, my best friend is now my fiancé and I canNOT wait for my best friend to turn into my husband.
Troy tried so hard to surprise me. He planned it all out in the living room of his grandmother’s house. He tried to record the whole thing where we would have the video forever. So when all was set up, I run into the house. He comes over to me and says “I love you baby. I couldn’t imagine a day without you.” So, me being oblivious to the whole thing just looked and said “Me, too babe. I thought we had to go. Why are your hands shaking? Are you okay?” About that time I turned and saw the camera and realized he was about to ask the most important question of our lives. He got down on one knee and asked me “Will you marry me?” Of course, I said yes!
