Maid of Honor
Abby and Anna met each other at Anchorage school. Anna wasn’t sure what to think about Abby at first, considering that Abby always fouled everyone during basketball practice. Nevertheless, they became best friends and spent carpool rides jamming to high school musical and grabbing Baskin Robbins Tuesday nights after swim practice (even when there were 60 mph winds). When Abby and Anna hang out, you can never be quite sure what will happen, but something pretty out-there will probably happen (yes, that was us walking around downtown Louisville with Minnie ears on). They’ve remained best friends even after years spent at different colleges and grad schools. Is it because of their mutual love for The Princess Bride? Inconceivable.
Bridesmaid
Erin and Anna met at Anchorage school and lived down the street from each other. They don’t really remember how they became best friends, but it definitely happened. Erin and Anna quickly became staples at each other’s houses, and their family’s were rarely surprised when they just randomly showed up and walked through the door. Whether they are packing to help send Erin off on her next adventure or working on learning all the dance moves to Hoedown Throwdown, Erin and Anna can always turn a task into fun. Erin and Anna always have had comical adventures together and surely this wedding will be no different. However, hopefully this won’t end up with them losing their shoes in an Anchorage creek.
Bridesmaid
Annie and Anna first met at Eastern High School. In addition to having many classes together, Annie and Anna quickly bonded over orchestra, swimming, and their mutual love for all things Disney. They ventured on to Transylvania University together, where they, along with Kristen, quickly became known as the trio. Annie, too, has brought lots of fun into Anna’s life (often in the form of surprise parties and annual mysterious Christmas parties). Anna is thankful to have had Annie as a best friend for many years who supports her love of sour skittles and carefully documents her life with her consistent and amazing photography.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Kristen first met through Anna’s high school boyfriend and Annie, and they were not particularly fond of each other. However, after Anna and her high school boyfriend broke up, Kristen and Anna started hanging out more and became much better friends (proof that sometimes great things come from break-ups). Kristen and Anna ended up at Transy together and became the aforementioned notorious trio. Anna and Kristen were roommates in college and swim teammates, and even though Kristen sometimes sleep talked and Anna chewed grapes too loudly for Kristen’s liking, they still became best friends.
Bridesmaid
Shelby and Anna first met at Transy. After Shelby and Annie became roommates sophomore year, Shelby quickly helped turn the notorious trio into a quad. Shelby and Anna have always bonded over their sheer goofiness, which has led them to develop some pretty crazy ideas and theories over the years (a messenger fish for mountain mail, epic alternative picture poses for Annie’s wedding, need I say more?). Anna knows that she can always count on Shelby to bring the fun and to sing Andy Dwyer’s 5,000 candles in the wind with her, which to Anna is a sign of a beautiful friendship.
Best Man
James and Taylor honestly don’t remember how first they met because it was so long ago. As Taylor says, James appeared in his life and he never questioned it. He also never questioned it when James tried to recruit him into a pyramid scheme, went on several questionable diets, and started baking an insane amount. They lived together for two years in Lexington and were quite happy when they came out of it not hating each other.
Groomsman/Officiant
He is a man of many talents, which is why he is a groomsman, our wedding officiant, and unofficial wedding advisor. Bonding with Taylor and Corey originally through a cursed summer class at Sinclair Community College, they eventually started a politics radio show, and stayed in touch through bourbon, videogames, and golf.
Groomsman
Beside from having the best hair, Corey also offers a plethora of different talents and experiences. Meeting Taylor and Julio in a cursed summer course at Sinclaire Community College, they would later create a political radio show at Wright State University. Taylor is still hoping to teach him what decent bourbon tastes like.
Groomsman
Originally just one of Taylor’s coworkers, they quickly bonded over a mutual disdain of early mornings and a love of videogames. Taylor is now an honorary uncle to Kristian’s two dogs and constantly has to remind himself that he can’t eat all the food in his apartment.
Groomsman
Meeting in College at Transylvania University, Taylor and Brandon soon became roommates out of necessity (because the random ones they were assigned were not good). Over the two and a half years they shared at Transy, they shared plenty of experiences, including Alanis Morrissette days and Wednesday movie nights.
Groomsman
The brother of Taylor, Kyle and Taylor haven’t always been able to see eye to eye, but they always recognize that they wouldn’t be who they are without the other.
Ring Bearer
Nicholas is Anna’s brother, and has been one of her closest friends for most of her life. They have always shared a mutual love for all things Disney, water parks, swimming, the beach, Looney Tunes, and the Muppets. Nicholas is one of the lights of Anna’s life and she is excited for him to be part of her wedding day.
Emcee and Ceremony Reader
Ghazal first met Taylor during an unfortunate time called August Term at Transylvania. While August Term was a less than pleasant experience overall, Ghazal and Taylor did become good pals due to their mutual love for cats, Spongebob, and really poorly made movies. Anna and Ghazal met when Ghazal joined the swim team, and they quickly bonded over their weirdness and love for classic DCOM’s (cheetah sisters). Anna became Ghazal’s big in AOII and they roomed together for 2 years at Transy. Needless to say, rooming together for 2 years was quite an adventure filled with jamming intermittently to Zoey 101, deep-dives on YouTube, and semi-successfully completing homework. Anna and Taylor are so excited to have Ghazal (aka G$) take part in their wedding!
Ceremony Reader
Cullen and Anna first met at the magical Anchorage School, where they had many fun times making cat’s cradles in playground towers at recess, jamming to High School Musical, and spending summers at art camps and random adventures (often led by Erin McHugh). Over the years, Cullen and Anna have remained close pals, potentially due to their mutual love of food, Disney and Princess Bride, and doggos. Anna is so excited to have Cullen be part of her wedding day!
