Following the first night we spent in our first apartment, we woke up to the sun shining through our gorgeous windows and the sounds from a lovely live music performance at the Troy Farmer’s Market below. It was magical. I think about that moment a lot and how perfect a Saturday morning in Troy can be <3 Check out the Troy Farmer’s Market if you plan to arrive before the wedding! It is filled with delicious food, interesting art / local goods, and oodles of smiling faces & friendly doggos. Anna & Grace worked for Brown’s Brewing Company for the Troy Farmer’s Market for a couple of summers, which really began our deep appreciation for the small town feel of the historical beauty that is Troy, New York. Surrounding the market, you can meander through the small alleys filled with charming businesses.
Hankering for a sweet treat? GO. HERE. Since moving to Troy, a (proud) large portion of Riley’s diet has become the ice cream cookie-wich from the Dutch Udder. They have literal hundreds of flavors constantly rotating and consistently win national prizes for their stuff! You can’t go wrong with anything here - plus you are transported to a magical candy land in this cozy little spot on River Street.
This is one of the coolest antique stores I have ever been to… and tends to have really reasonable prices! I love just popping in and noticing something new that catches my eye (and perhaps partaking in some shopping along the way, if the thrift speaks to me) You can follow them on instagram @yellow.lab.vint and check out their style :)
We will almost definitely be hitting up this iconic bar post wedding… see ya there ;)
Brown’s Brewing Company! If you’re from the area, you have definitely heard of this incredible, family-run small business - whether it be rave reviews about their beer, bringing home all the leftovers from your dinner at the restaurant, or attending one of their many events! Check this place out :)
We were really privileged to live next door to the Arts Center for a year. It really opened my eyes to all that they do for the local community (art classes, fundraisers, galas, rotating art exhibitions, haunted houses, etc.). If you have some time to kill, you won’t regret walking in and browsing their collection (almost always for free)
