Formal dress code meets whimsy! Not to be dramatic, but this is the fanciest party we will ever be throwing. So we would love to see all of our favorite people dressed to the nines and maybe even going a little out of their comfort zone ;) See details to our garden party aesthetic on the Schedule tab as well as a linked Pinterest board for inspiration of guest attire. There may or may not be some prizes for best dressed, ….sooo just keep that in mind when choosing your OOTD
Weather permitting, our ceremony will be alongside the 18th green at the Country Club of Troy (CCT). For my non-golfy friends, this is really just to say the ceremony will be on grass if all goes well, so… …please dress accordingly! My fashion forward friends may wish to opt for a wedged shoe, a thick/wide heel, or some fabulous flats considering you will be walking on grass. If you get cold easily, be sure to bring layers, and sunglasses might be your friend for the ceremony depending on brightness levels. Following 4 PM ceremony (guest should plan to arrive around 3:30-3:45 ), cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will all take place at CCT. No need to worry about getting to the next spot :) Dinner and toasts will be held inside with cocktail hour and dancing to occur outside, under the porch with bar attached, and under our tent. Feel free to explore the grounds, engage in our lawn games, and have a jolly good time!
To find overnight accommodations, please refer to our Travel tab on the website, where we go into the details of how you can book with the hotels we have reserved rooms for. While we tried to get hotel blocks in Troy to be even closer to the venue, many were unavailable or quite overpriced due to the very busy nature of the weekend (Indigenous People’s Day on Monday the 13th/the long Columbus Day weekend, family weekend for 2 colleges in downtown Troy, and according to one of the hotels we reached out to, there are at least 12 other weddings taking place the same day within the capital region…). Therefore, we reserved rooms at 2 hotels nearby in Albany. To account for the distance between accommodations and the wedding location, Sir Edward Giles Bacon II booked a large shuttle bus that will bring guests to and from the country clerb. Times for departure will be updated closer to the wedding day! If neither of the above options align with what you are looking for, we recommend checking out nearby inns, Vrbo, and Airbnb listings (anywhere from Averill Park, Albany/Latham, to Cohoes/Waterford will be approximately 15 minutes away by car, and Ubers are available in these areas). Still feeling unsure? Don’t hesitate to reach out and ask us!
Unless explicitly indicated on your received invitation & personalized RSVP details on our website, plus ones are unfortunately not permitted. We spent many, mAnY (MANY) hours narrowing down our guest list to fit our budget & needs. While we would typically follow the notion of, “the more the merrier”, it would be impossible to accommodate additional guests. Due to venue capacity, we are unable to extend plus-ones beyond those specifically named on the invitation. We ask that you please respect this difficult decision and we appreciate your understanding <3 We can’t WAIT to celebrate with YOU!
Plug in the Country Club of Troy on your GPS and trust the process. It is a bit of a long, winding road to get to the premises, so do not fret if it looks like you are driving in the middle of the woods. You are almost there, we promise! Luckily, CCT has plenty of parking space available. As you pull into the club and approach the large white building, on your right there will be a tall narrow clock surrounded by some bushes and flowers. You are going to keep driving straight back until you reach the parking lot area with lines marked off. If it gets crowded here, staff will direct you to the next available parking spots.
We have a plethora of children that are involved in the wedding ceremony itself (7 flower girls, 1 ring bearer, and a couple ushers, to be exact). These are the only children that will be in attendance. Unless specifically invited or discussed previously, please do not bring additional children. After finishing up dinner and having some time to dance, the kids (upon their parents consent) will be brought to a room in the back of the club where they will be watched over for the remainder of the evening. This ensures that all adults will have a party into the evening and that some tomfoolery may ensue on the dance floor :)
We hate to see this day come to an end as well… While our time at CCT ends at 10 PM, we plan to keep the party going once we return to downtown Troy! If you would like to join our Bacon Bar Crawl, we will kick things off at Ryan’s Wake. Meet us there - and no need to change, let’s bring the wedding to the downtown! :)
