Explore Independence Pass: This scenic drive crosses 12,095-foot Independence Pass. The views are amazing and there are several spots to pull off for a hike along the way. Aspen Gondola: The aspen gondola in the summer is a great way to spend the day. Taking a breathtaking ride up from town to the top of Aspen mountain and getting lunch at the Sundeck can't be beat. Check out Bluegrass Sundays from 12-3 Rent e-bikes from Aspen Bikes and ride up to Maroon Bells or Woody Creek Tavern for a margarita! Rent paddle boards and float down Stillwater, a mellow and windy stretch of river that will take about 1.5-2 hrs. Hikes: Ute Trail for a steep and challenging but short hike to a lookout on Aspen mountain Smuggler Mountain for a popular scenic hike up a service road Hunter Creek Trail for a longer adventure Crater Lake in the Maroon Bells Wilderness 3.5 miles American Lake 6.8 miles The Grottos beautiful short hike; less than 1 mile Spiral Point via Rim Trail South (Snowmass Village)

Fun Western rodeo for those in town on Wednesday. About a 2 mile drive from the Viceroy. 5-9pm.
Free Snowmass Concert
For those in town on Thursday night, a free blues concert by Mr. Sipp on Snowmass Mountain. Bring a picnic or buy food there; no outside alcohol. One mile uphill from the Viceroy -- shuttles available. 6:30-9:00. For details go to gosnowmass.com.
