We have been saving up for a home in the bay area for the past 3 years, and are asking for money towards that $$$$ deposit. We do not have any space for more stuff, so if you are a physical gift giver, help us get a house so that you can then give us physical gifts in the future! Thank you very much!
People often ask us how we met- and the short answer is at an Improv show in Fremont. The long answer includes our bearded dragon named Fry, our buddies Yap and Amanda, and an out-of-business karaoke bar. But you'll have to wait until the reception to hear that story. But the fun part happens after that. We began dating shortly after we met and had our first date in a dive bar in Oakland with a horrible live band. It was too loud to talk, so we mostly drank in silence and watched Jurassic Park on the bar's TVs, holding hands, and occasionally commenting on the film. It sounds horrible when we try to describe it, but it was actually pretty magical and we had a really good time. Soon after, we moved in together into Neil's apartment in San Francisco. We knew we wanted to build a life together, so after six months of dating, we decided we were ready to take the leap and get married! Neil proposed during our Valentine's Day trip to Monterey at sunset in a conveniently placed gazebo on the beach. Anna was so happy that she almost forgot to say yes! We got married at San Francisco City Hall for $200. It took 20 minutes for us to do the paperwork, five minutes for the ceremony, and 30 minutes to take a bunch of photos around City Hall. It was perfect, we highly recommend it. We were the first couple of the day to get married, so we walked up to the wedding circle with the officiant and our guests, stepped inside the circle to do the ceremony, exchanged vows and did the kiss, then took approximately five photos before the officiant said, "Congratulations! You need to vacate the circle because I need to wed the next couple." He then pointed to a line of five other gorgeous couples waiting their turn that we didn't even realize had begun lining up. We laughed and apologized and went about our day- taking photos and having brunch, typical wedding day things. After that, lots has changed and lots has stayed the same. The biggest change was adopting our forever pup, Chip. We were gifted a cat, Ravi. We moved twice and are planning to buy a house soon. And we are planning to have a baby in the next couple of years, if it works out. So we hope that you can make it to our California Reception! We are looking forward to celebrating our relationship with everyone! With Love, the George-Voits.
