We first met in 6th grade believe it or not, but ran in different social circles. Then, in High School, I ended up dating his best friend and our friend groups would hang out from time to time, going to the movies, playing soccer, or going on drives. Matt ended up getting a job at the Monument over the Summer and we became instant work friends. We would play games to make the shift go by faster, talk about guests, and grab food after sometimes. With the two of us becoming good friends, it worked out so well, for all of our friends too, as we would all hang out together more often. We became so close that people at work would constantly try to get us together, there was even a petition passed around the Cafe that was titled, "Petition for Anna to break up with her boyfriend and date Matt". The petition was signed by everyone working at the Cafe, including the managers, and even Rusty. Time went on and my then boyfriend, sister, Kendall, Matt, and myself all had plans to go to dinner together later in the week. But, before we went, my boyfriend and I broke up and Kendall thought it would be weird to go just the three of us, but Matt told me we were still going. Just the two of us. That was the night that changed it all, and the night Matt considers to be our first date.
