FAQs

Question

Can I rely on getting an Uber back to my accommodations after the wedding?

Answer

In short, no. There are very few Ubers and Lyfts in the Skagit Valley and therefore it is not a reliable mode of transportation. We will have a shuttle to and from the hotel (Comfort Suites in Burlington). If you're staying at a VRBO please consider establishing a designated driver.

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

We are going for the "garden party" look. What does that actually mean?? (1) We will be outdoors. Bring layers because the weather can be unpredictable. Bring sunglasses and a sun hat because we will be at the height of sunshine just after the summer solstice. Wear comfy shoes because John and Katy have a gorgeous property and we invite you to walk their trails. (2) Ladies - We suggest a breathable summer dress or separates. It could be hot. However, it could also be cool and rainy so consider bringing nylons (those still exist, right?) to add warmth as well as a wrap, sweater, or light jacket. There will be plenty of heaters under the tent because being cold is my worst nightmare. (3) Gentemen - No formal suits necessary. Ties are optional but we are looking for button down shirts rather than polos.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There will be plenty of parking at John and Katy's if you plan to drive. If you live or are staying nearby, please make arrangements for a DD, then feel free to leave your car overnight. There will be a shuttle to/from the Comfort Suites in Burlington.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please see your invitation which will indicate your +1 status.

Question

What about Covid-19?

Answer

In light of the Covid situation, wedding regulations are ever changing and we simply don't know what June 2021 will hold. This may mean we have to cut our guest list down in order to fit within the guidelines set forth by our Governor. Please know that should that be the case as we approach our wedding day, it will be the hardest decision for us to come to, so we ask for your grace and understanding if that means we cannot celebrate with you in person on our wedding day. We suggest you bookmark our wedding website so you can routinely check for further updates!
