Anna and John met online, like all successful modern couples. Anna liked what she saw so she sent John a message that read only “Hotdogs or hamburgers?” He responded, “Hamburgers, obviously”. That led to a first date at a board game cafe. John told her that he liked her, and Anna made him hold her hand while they crossed the street. The rest is history (and John still holds Anna’s hand when they cross the street).
John bought an engagement ring for Anna in February 2020. Then a little something called The Pandemic arrived. That put the kibosh to John’s plan to propose during a planned vacation to New Zealand. That trip never did happen, and it took John another two years to screw up the courage to pop the question. He finally did it in February 2022, a few days before he was about to sail off on a naval ship for a month. Anna’s reply was “I suppose I could make that happen”, which he took to mean “yes”. We’ll only find out for sure in July!
