A museum just outside of town about the Marengo battle, that marked the end of Napoleon's campaign of Italy. Open only on the weekends in the afternoon.

Monferrato is a hilly area just north of Alessandria where some of the best wines in the world are produced. Especially if you have a car it might be nice to try out the restaurants and wineries in the area. Monferrato offers a lot of different options but we recommend visiting especially Vignale Monferrato.
