Meet Makenzi - Anna's first official friend in college at UW-Madison where they met in the dorms of Witte 10A. They spent several nights watching Disney movies and eating ice cream, studying for Finance exams, and planning themed parties for their friends. Several years later, and these two haven't changed a bit - except for some husbands (or soon-to-be), houses, and babies added to the mix. Ask her about her favorite tacos in Austin, TX or her baby girl Leona (born in March 2024)!

Meet Christian - Christian is, quite literally, like a brother to Diego - he has the same first, and middle, name as his own brother. You could say it was a bromance decided by fate. Christian and Diego first met through their tennis mentors at a summer camp. They have become inseparable since, and have helped each other in navigating through their tennis coaching careers. Ask him about his favorite bar, Butch McGuire’s, and his ability to "split the G" or his love for the Houston Texans.

Meet Michelle - another Witte 10A survivor, who taught Anna that Jimmy Johns is the superior sub sandwich (don’t sleep on the sprouts), and that the farmers market is always a good idea. The friend that is always down to take the Amtrak train to Chicago for a quick visit - whether it's for Anna or the glossier store. Ask her about the coolest spots to grab a drink in MKE or her pup Howie and her cat George!

Meet Jordan - a college friendship formed during their college visit, that has lasted over nine years. In the four years they were tennis teammates and roommates, they spent a lot of time together, even spending sick days together binge watching the Michael Myers series. Since college, the two have made visits to each other, spending time in their new homes and cities. Ask him about his son Reid (who just turned 1 in June 2024) or the shockingly short list of foods he actually likes to eat.

Meet Courtney - another crucial part of the Witte 10A legacy. Beyond their time spent together in Madison, they have since leveled up and now both live in Chicago, IL, where Courtney has played an integral role in turning Anna into a true Chicagoan. Finding the best city brunch spots, spending time at the lake, and introducing her to friends that are now a part of Anna’s own inner circle.

Meet Andree - Diego and Andree became close friends when Andree joined the Grandview tennis team with Diego and Jordan their Sophomore year. The two were reunited when Diego and Anna moved to Miami for a few months, with Andree and his wife Kari showing them some of their favorite spots around the city! Ask him about his home country, Sweden, or his interest in natural psychotropics.

Meet Leah - thanks to Anna’s brother (Alex), Anna not only gained a new friend, but also a sister! Leah and Anna quickly bonded over their love of SNACKS and their ability to annoy Alex. As the ultimate hype woman, Anna knows Leah will always be there to boost her mood. Ask her about her baby girl (due in December 2024!), her FIRST (fur) baby - Ricky, or her love for margaritas!

Meet Alex Nelson - the brother-in-law-to-be. Alex and Diego bonded over sports, well, because it’s the only thing these two ever talk about. Alex also has taught Diego ways to annoy Anna (oh, brotherly payback), and has even offered up his Blackstone grill top for future hibachi nights when Diego and Anna move to MN (he wishes). Ask about his quest to visit all MLB stadiums, personally curated dad jokes, and his love of breakfast foods - including the best MN brunch spots.

Meet Alice - Anna met Alice through Diego, and quickly claimed her as her own friend. Alice is always up for an adventure, having tried different restaurants, bars, beach parties, and workout classes across Chicago with Anna. If you’re lucky, one day you’ll get to try her crepes and quiche. Ask her about the south of France where she grew up, or the most aesthetic rooftop bars in the city.

Meet Alex Donkor - aka “Donkor” is one of the first people that influenced Diego’s life and career path in Chicago. He was Diego's mentor who helped him transition from playing tennis to coaching. Living in Kenosha, Diego and Anna make sure to stop and say hi any time they are in the area, which is usually at the infamous Brat Stop.

Meet Candela - Anna first met Candela at Euromonitor International where they both worked as consultants, and quickly became close after their first happy hour together. They share a love for thrifting and making homemade beaded necklaces - a hobby Candela introduced to Anna. Ask her about her best thrift finds, or her hometown of Vigo in Galacia, Spain!
Leonard Cordero

Meet Leonard - Diego’s day one since Kindergarten. He's the only person who can walk into Diego's house in Peru without Diego even being there and spend hours chatting with Nona (Diego's grandma) while she cooks him something delicious to eat. Despite being far away, these two still chat regularly. Most recently, Diego took Anna to Peru to meet Leonard for the first time, where they took her to meet their shared first love - the Alianza Lima soccer team (and Pisco). Practice your Spanish with Leonard by asking him about all things Peru, or any embarrassing stories from Diego’s childhood.
