Dennis and Anna met at, of all places, a wedding. They were in the same Carrboro crowd, but missed each other by just a few months--Anna moved away from North Carolina in 2019 to start her public health career in Baltimore as Dennis moved to Chapel Hill. A few years later at a mutual friend's wedding in 2022, an eagle-eyed friend noticed a spark after she introduced Anna and Dennis. She then proceeded to spend the evening convincing Anna to camp over night with Dennis since her initial plans fell through. After not much convincing (hey, he was cute!) Anna acquiesced. The next morning the two exchanged numbers, with neither expecting much to come of it. Cut to a few months later, Dennis visited Anna in Washington, DC, where they realized their initial spark had potential to turn into something real.
