Rising high above the vast olive grove, Ostuni is one of the Apulia's gem. Defensive walls and tumbling clusters of white-washed houses wind around the hillside, at the top of which, proudly surveying the surrounding land, sits the magnificent Gothic cathedral. The coastline (just 8km away) boasts some of Puglia’s loveliest beaches (see section on Marina). Two companies on the territory organize events, activities and guided tours: - Cooperativa serapia: https://www.cooperativaserapia.it/ - Millenari di Puglia: http://www.ulivisecolaridipuglia.com/en/ RESTAURANTS & PIZZERIA L'osteria del tempo perso, Vicolo 43, Casa san Giacomo, Operaprima (Ostuni town) Lido bosco verde (by the sea) WORTH THE TRIP Il Cortiletto, Masseria Narducci (Speziale), Masseria Anticalama, Masseria Mozzone APERITIVO Evo', Cicinedda, Pausa caffe, ABC, Walkingwine (instagram), and Ricardo cafe' ICE CREAM LOVERS: Ciccio in piazza

Monopoli is a lovely town for a day trip, possibly in combination with Polignano a Mare just up the coast, mixing a dip in the sea with a good lunch and a wander around the old town centre. The coast south of Monopoli (Capitolo) is characterised by long shores with fine sand, where private beaches alternate to public ones and the entrance is indicated by signs. Capitolo is the most buzzing centre of summer nightlife in Monopoli, where you can let yourself go, dance and sip a cocktail stopping off at one of the several discos and beaches with entertainment activities. Suggestions for a beach day in nice lidos: Lido Tamerici, Lido Marza', Lido le macchie, Lido bellifreschi, Lido le palme, Cala cerasa. In the area, there is a waterpark, Aquapark Egnazia with different water attractions.
Puglia's Valle d'Itria welcomes visitors with expanses of olive trees, bright red soil, dry stone walls and trulli. Ideal for a day trip, visit the towns of Cisternino, Locorotondo, and Martina Franca. For meat-lovers: Have dinner in Cisternino to the famous "fornelli" where you can chose local meat (salsiccia, bombette, gnummareddi, and other meat) in butchery shops, and they will grill it at the moment! We reccomend Al vecchio fornello & Zio Pietro. Book it in advance! (no veg options)
Located in the scenic Valle d’Itria, Alberobello is known to be the trulli capital of Puglia and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The town is divided into two historic centers, Rione Monti and Aia Piccola. In each of them there are many beautiful, well kept trulli built in prehistoric times. For a day trip: Combine Alberobello and visit to the Grotte of Castellana
