Puerto Escondido

The best airport to fly into is Puerto Escondido (PMX). This airport will be a 10-30 minute drive from most accommodations. You can either rent a car at the airport or taxis are available right outside the airport. You can also look into flying into Oaxaca City or Mexico City and then drive or fly into Puerto Escondido. Oaxaca City is about a 3 hour drive or bus to Puerto Escondido.

Potential neighborhoods to stay in

La Punta A lively, younger neighborhood with lots of tourists, nightlife, and a strong surf vibe. Tons of restaurants, cafés, bars, and shops are walkable, and its steps from La Punta Beach. Expect a energetic atmosphere, especially at night. About 20–25 minutes from the wedding venue. Carrizalillo / Bacocho / Rinconada Quieter, scenic, and more residential areas that sit close together. Great for families or guests wanting a calmer stay. Carrizalillo has one of the best swimming beaches; Rinconada has a nice restaurant strip; Bacocho offers wide beaches and sunset turtle releases. About 10 minutes from the wedding venue. Zicatela A long beachfront area known for its iconic surf breaks and wide stretch of restaurants, cafés, and beach bars. It has an energetic but more spread-out vibe than La Punta, so you can find both lively spots and quieter stays. Some areas have late nightlife and might be close to louder bars or clubs. It’s close to the local market and has plenty of walkable dining and beachfront hangouts. About 15 minutes from the wedding venue.
