Our Story

"The Reds"

In May 2012, Anna decided to make a trip up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where her high-school best friend, Meredith, lived at the time. Before her arrival, Meredith told Will - "Anna loves snowboarding, sailing, and wearing flannels - you'll love her." When she showed up at the door, Meredith's roommate William was there. Meredith introduced Will to Anna and joked "Will loves skiing, sailing, and wearing flannels - you'll love him". Will and Anna both got jobs during the summer of 2012 at the Harbor Haus in Copper Harbor, MI and spent the summer camping, adventuring, working together, and catching crawdads from the Fanny Hooe river. Copper Harbor has a very special place in our hearts and was no question when Will proposed where we would celebrate our marriage. The summer of 2012, Anna and Will passed off their relationship as just a good friendship - but our local friends didn't believe that - they were convinced we were a pair and started being referred to as "The Reds" because of our strangely similar hair color. In August 2018, Will and Anna went for a hike on Cinnamon Mountain in their current home of Crested Butte, Colorado. Anna was grumpy and didn't want to hike that day, but Will pushed on and convinced her to climb all the way to the top. At the summit, Will proposed with a greenstone ring (Michigan's gemstone) and most popularly found on Isle Royale National Park (where Anna & Will did their first backpacking trip together). We hope you can celebrate our wedding with us on September 14th, 2019 in Copper Harbor, MI.
