This really depends on how far you'll be traveling and if you prefer driving or flying. If you're more than a 6 hour drive away, you might want to consider flying. However, it is worth noting that getting to Banner Elk from an airport will still be a bit of a journey. If you are flying, we recommend trying to schedule your flights so you can possibly share a rental car with someone! If you plan to fly and are interested in sharing transportation, reach out!
We recommend staying within a 10 minute drive of downtown Banner Elk to be able to make use of the shuttle service! You will find recommendations on the "Travel" page of this site. We've also secured a handful of houses/b&bs to ensure everyone can stay close by. Reach out for more information!
Yes! We've arranged a shuttle service to make things simple (and safe!) for our guests to get to and from the wedding. A shuttle will be running from downtown Banner Elk to Elk River Club on the day of the wedding, with stops at the following locations: Azalea Inn Bed & Breakfast and the Best Western Mountain Lodge. *Shuttles will depart the Best Western and the Azalea Inn at 4:30pm and will depart Elk River Club beginning at 9:00pm, returning guests to the Best Western and Azalea Inn*
Of course! Please reach out to one of us (listed above) with any requests.
For the welcome party, come as you are! For the wedding, we suggest cocktail attire with layers. Weather in the mountains is rather unpredictable and we don't want anyone to be cold!
We love you and your children and we want our wedding to be enjoyable for everyone, but we ask that you consider making this an adults-only trip. Questions? Reach out!
