Dress: Traditional or Formal Attire
The groom arrives in style surrounded by his family and friends as they parade to the wedding venue, with dancing, dhol music (drumming) and other traditional instruments. This begins not far from the venue, and ends at the entrance way. The bride's family wait at the doors of the venue to greet the Baraat. When they arrive, family members meet, exchange garlands, and embrace one another - symbolizing a unification of the two families. Then, the groom is escorted to the Mandap (altar) to await his bride. After the bride is escorted to the Mandap, she exchanges floral garlands with her groom. They place the flowers around each others neck to symbolize their acceptance of the union. After the lighting of a sacred fire, seven sacred steps, a ring exchange, and many blessings - the celebrations can begin! Cocktails start at 6PM in the evening at Crystal Plaza, and reception to follow!
