Flight
If you search flights from LAX to Cusco, it will automatically offer flights stopping at Lima first, which is normal as there are no direct flights from LAX to Cusco. First, you have to fly to Lima, Peru and then take a 1.5 hour flight to Cusco. You can choose to spend at most a day in Lima, but we recommend going straight to Cusco as it is where the Peruvian magic is 🦙✨
Hotel
We recommend finding accommodations near the Plaza Mayor de Cusco. The wedding and reception will be at the Monasterio, a Belmond Hotel. However, Cusco offers very economical to very luxurious accommodations, please choose what is best for you.
Travel Note
Cusco is located at a high altitude (around 3,400 meters/11,150 feet above sea level), and some guests may experience altitude sickness. This can include symptoms like headaches, shortness of breath, or dizziness. But don’t worry, here are some tips to help you adjust and enjoy your stay: Arrive Early: Give yourself at least a day or two to acclimatize before setting off to explore. Taking it easy upon arrival can make a big difference. Take It Slow: Avoid strenuous activities for the first day or two. Walking slowly and resting often can help. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your body adjust to the altitude. Avoid alcohol, as it can worsen symptoms. Coca Tea: Local remedies like coca tea are often recommended and can be found in most hotels and cafes. Medication: Acetazolamide (Diamox) can help prevent altitude sickness. Accessible at pharmacies in Peru or have your doctor prescribe it to you. We want everyone to feel great and have a wonderful time celebrating with us, so please take care of yourself and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns!
