Step 1: Travel from Cusco to Ollantaytambo

Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours. Details: You’ll travel through scenic mountain roads from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, a town in the Sacred Valley. This is where you’ll catch the train.

Step 2: Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes

Transport: Train (PeruRail or IncaRail). Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours. Details: Enjoy the stunning views of the Andes as the train winds through valleys and alongside rivers. Aguas Calientes is the gateway town to Machu Picchu.

Step 3: Stay Overnight in Aguas Calientes

Accommodation: Book a hotel for the night of March 31st (if you're coming with us April 1st). Details: Relax in Aguas Calientes after the journey. Explore the town, visit hot springs, and prepare for your Machu Picchu visit the next day.

Step 4: Travel from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu

Transport: Bus or hike. Duration: 30 minutes by bus, or 1.5 to 2 hours hiking. Details: The bus takes you up a winding road to the entrance of Machu Picchu. If you prefer, you can hike along the trail for a more challenging experience.

Step 5: Explore Machu Picchu

Details: Discover the ancient Inca citadel and its breathtaking views. Must book entry ticket in advance! View below for more details.
