How it all started

6.5.17

When I first met Anie she made sure I knew how to pronounce her name. I'd never heard her name before, but I certainly won't live down the 3 times I accidentally called her Annie. Her face lit up when she smiled and I couldn't help but get lost in it. I don't really remember what we spoke about, but I left that brief conversation thoroughly hooked. I walked away smiling for no reason and immediately texted my coworkers declaring dibs on the new girl! Anie proved to be more than just a beautiful smile as we worked together for the next few months. Her work ethic, attention to detail and even her eye for design all attracted me to her. I never knew those things could matter, but they showed a strength of character and intelligence that was captivating. She was amazing to watch and I became ridiculously infatuated with her. At the company holiday party later that year I worked some magic to score a seat at her table, and struck up a conversation. Anie's infectious laugh and amazing smile had always grabbed my attention, but that night it was focused on me, and I was in heaven. We exchanged phone numbers and after our second date, she agreed to be my girlfriend.

The Proposal

1.1.20

On New Years Eve we got a group together and headed to Napa to celebrate. We'd gone up to the hotel's rooftop, when Jason disappeared moments before the clock struck midnight. Then as the countdown began, he ran towards me and did a boy band spin landing on his knees, asking if I'd marry him. Knowing how important my culture is to me, he had done some snooping and found out I had my eye on an Armenian ring designer. He proposed with this gorgeous but more importantly sentimental ring...I was laughing and crying while of course saying yes. He'd arranged for our song to start playing immediately after he popped the question. We held each other swaying back and forth to "You are the best thing" by Ray LaMontagne while surrounded by our friends/family cheering us on and snapping photos like our own personal paparazzi. It was a beautiful and surreal moment. I'm so proud of the relationship we've built and how genuinely happy we make one another. Jason came into my life when I least expected it...but since the beginning, he's been a constant source of love, support, and laughter. I couldn't feel luckier to have such an amazing partner to do life with. 2020 started out on a really high note for us, and although it was an extremely tough year overall, we cannot wait to be in a room full of our loved ones to celebrate!
