Appreciating the cold weather and the panoramic view of the Taal Volcano is better done at the Picnic Grove. This recreational area is one of the popular landmarks in the city, equipped with cottages and lush surroundings ideal for family picnics and activities. Visitors can also enjoy horseback riding, zip lining, eco-trailing and cable car riding in the grove.
If you’re traveling ahead with a large group, the Sky Ranch in Tagaytay is a good place to visit. Although it has fewer attractions, it’s still home to the Sky Eye — the country’s tallest Ferris wheel to date – at 63 meters high and 32 gondolas. There are also a variety of rides for children ideal for when you’re traveling with kids.
Situated atop of Mt. Sungay, People’s Park was part of the unfinished mansion ambitiously known as the Palace in the Sky. With the fall of the Marcos regime, the palace was left neglected and opened to the public. Today, the park is already showing signs of advanced wear and tear but its grandiose architecture remains evident.
The Puzzle Mansion is home to the record-breaking jigsaw puzzle collection of Gina Gil Lacuna. In 2012, the late Lacuna was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records for having the largest collection of jigsaw puzzles across the globe. She beat the then reigning Brazilian Luiza Figueiredo with her 1,028 puzzles.
