Angelo first saw Carmela at her church’s youth concert in 2016. "Who's that worship leader?" 👀 he found himself asking. She immediately piqued his interest, but—classic Angelo—he let the moment slip by without saying a word. Looking back, that seemed to be the theme of their early encounters—always crossing paths but never quite connecting. Fast forward to late 2022, when their story truly started gaining traction. That was when the idea of her started forming in Angelo’s mind, and little did he know, their friends and family had already been secretly rooting for them long before he caught on. The following year felt like a series of moments that pulled their invisible string (est. 2016) closer and closer. The more they encountered each other, the more their curiosity grew. Finally, Angelo mustered up the courage to message Carmela in the summer of '23. And what better excuse than to ask her to play in for his co-ed sports team? To his surprise, she actually showed up—but not to play. Instead, she came to scope out the prospect who had also been in her mind 🤭. Since then, their getting to know each other has felt exciting, easy, deep, and really peaceful. In the short time they’ve truly known each other, its already felt like they’ve built a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. In February 22, 2025, Angelo planned a deliberate proposal (with Google docs and floor plans 🤓) at the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant in Calgary. Carmela said yes, with a skip in her step!
