What is semi-formal cocktail attire ?

Answer

Semi-formal cocktail attire is polished and stylish, but not as formal as black-tie. Think elevated, elegant, and party-ready, without the need for tuxedos. Here’s the breakdown ⸻ ⭐ For Women Overall vibe: chic, dressy, and put-together — OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAMOR head pieces, sparkles, encouraged but not costumey. ✔ Good Options • midi (mid-calf) cocktail dresses to long evening gown - (silky, crepe, satin, chiffon, beading optional) • Dressy Jumpsuits • Heels, block heels, wedges, or elevated flats • Statement jewelry or a clutch to finish the look ✘ Avoid • Anything too casual: sundresses, denim, flip flops, casual sandals, or overly clubby outfits, Nothing above the knee! ⸻ ⭐ For Men Overall vibe: dressy, clean, and tailored. ✔ Good Options • Dark or neutral suit (full suit is ideal & encouraged. • Pressed Dress shirt + slacks • Dress shoes (oxfords, loafers, derbies) ✘ Avoid • Polos, shorts, denim, sneakers, sandals or anything outdoorsy or too casual. ⸻ ⭐ The Vibe / Expectation Semi-formal cocktail is: • Dressier than “nice dinner out” • Less formal than Black Tie (needing to rent a tux) Think Great Gatsby, champagne fountains, long flowing or sparkling evening gowns in shades of reds, crystal chandeliers & caviar and you’ll fit right in. :) We’re looking forward to having you join us in our 1920s Hollywood Glam attire in shades of Rich Red.
